Rulindo District, Rwanda
about the project
With the donations received from the New York Coffee Festival in 2015, Project Waterfall was able to fund another project in Rwanda in partnership with charity: water. Over one third of people in Rwanda lacked access to safe water and nearly 40% lived without improved sanitation, both of which are integral to Rwanda’s progress after the 1994 genocide.
The project designed rainwater harvesting systems and tap stands using motorized and gravity flow water systems, which make bringing water to the hilly terrain of Rwanda possible. The project aims to reach 1,000 people. We are so happy to hear that our funding has reached the ground in Rwanda, and we look forward to sharing more information about the project which is due to finish in 2017.
Check back in on our website for future updates about the project’s progress, and let us know if you would like to get involved with fundraising projects like this one.
