Avenues for Involvement

Bring clean water, sanitation and education to the communities that grow our coffee by joining one of our fundraising initiatives.

To support Project Waterfall as a roaster, coffeeshop or wholesaler, we have a number of initiatives you can get involved with. From donating water sales to running an in-store fundraiser, there’s lots of ways you can join our community who is committed to ending to the water crisis in coffee-growing communities.

Project Waterfall is an environmental partner with 1% for the planet.

Partner programmes

Roasters Programme

Members of our Roasters Programme support Project Waterfall by donating a percentage of sales from every bag of coffee sold. This can be on whatever coffee you choose - some roasters donate across their whole range or from a specific product line.

We typically suggest a 10% donation per bag sold or a set amount per kilo, but it’s entirely up to you how much you give. Whether you sell to other businesses or directly to customers, our Roasters Programme can fit your business model.

Want your customers to know you’re a Project Waterfall supporter? You can add a Project Waterfall sticker to your existing packaging or incorporate the Project Waterfall logo into a redesign.

Coffee Shops & Restaurants

Drop a dime

Our featured initiative: add an optional £1 donation to a customers bill when they order tap water. This works best in restaurants with table service and a filtered water offering.

Menu item donation

Include a donation to Project Waterfall within the cost of a menu item. A coffee shop might donate 10p from every flat white, whereas a restaurant or bar might opt for £1 from every Tiramisu or Espresso Martini.

Paper cup charge

The Paper Cup Charge is a 25p charge that you add to a customer’s bill as a non-VAT transaction when they order a coffee in a takeaway cup and then donate to Project Waterfall.

Brand Partners

Our long-term partnerships are with companies both directly and indirectly connected to these communities through their products and services. These partnerships typically involve a financial commitment of £50-150k per year. An investment of £50,000 brings clean water to approximately 2,000 people (although this number can very depending on where the community is).

By supporting us to bring clean water and sanitation to coffee-growing communities, you can build brand credibility, transform customer perceptions and spark important conversations.
